I like food.

Do you like food?

If you're reading this, I'm assuming that you do.

And I love food.

Today I felt like a real good, simple, light lunch.

SO I MADE ONE.

Chicken and goat cheese on French bread.

Nom nom nom nom nom.

Recipe here.

Then I completely ruined my healthy streak by making s'mores in a mug. Yup. In a mug. It's that easy.

Think you're too neat, tidy and sophisticated for this American classic?
Think again!

Recipe here.

Arrrttttttt

I like patterns.

You know, simple ones. But pretty.

So, I'm taking on a nautical project.

Here's the first piece, still "in editing", shall we say. (Bad pictures, I know)

Keep in mind that these are lazily taken photos (not scans) and that cameras/scanners/computer screens do not show metallic ink in its true beauty. But this is the idea, basically:

Awkward shadow there in the left corner.... my bad.

Plus I'm starting others with different color palettes.

So yeah.

I like patterns.

Do these look amazing to you?

A chocolate bar for each town in the Hamptons/East End! My

Macaroons. Nom nom nom.

These are just a few creations of my current place of employment, Mali B Sweets. A wonderful little bakery/confectionary in Greenport, Long Island, Mali B Sweets uses local purveyors, organic sugar and dairy, and European butter in its products. The owners are very passionate and make sure that every new confection is as pretty (or prettier) than the last. Because of their dedication and high-quality ingredients, upkeep is expensive, and Mali B Sweets is in the running for a grant that could help out a LOT. So if you like small businesses that contribute to the community, care about their customers, and dedicate themselves to making the finest products possible, then VOTE FOR MALI B SWEETS!

Make Your Own Brown Sugar!

So you're out of brown sugar.

And you don't feel like going all the way to the store to buy some more.

And you're just jonesin' for some chocolate chip cookies (or other dessert requiring brown sugar).

Shucks.

I guess you're out of luck.

What's that?

It's easy to make your own brown sugar?

And you probably have the ingredients at home?

That's right.

White sugar and molasses.

Make it.

Taste the dough.

Think about how much better it tastes than dough with store-bought brown sugar.

Yeah.

From this...

...to this. In minutes.

Make it here.
