New Recipes!

Granola Parfait! Yummy!




Frozen vanilla custard! 

I will soon be posting recipes for 1) The BEST Granola ever and 2) Delicious Frozen Vanilla Custard.

The custard is a frozen dessert that I truly believe more people need exposure to. Ice cream is overrated in my opinion. Custard has the most wonderful, smooth, creamy texture, and a wonderful sweet-but-not-too-sweet vanilla taste (you can make other flavors as well). I'm looking forward to making blackberry and chocolate custard. This recipe is adapted from the best cookbook in the world, which also needs to be shared with the masses. I like drawing Japanese-ish looking blossoms. I think they'd make nice covers to greeting/note cards once I clean 'em up a bit. Sharpies are my best friend, and I encourage others to use them. They can do anything. That's my art post for the month.

I like food.

Do you like food?

If you're reading this, I'm assuming that you do.

And I love food.

Today I felt like a real good, simple, light lunch.

SO I MADE ONE.

I like patterns.

You know, simple ones. But pretty.

So, I'm taking on a nautical project.

Here's the first piece, still "in editing", shall we say. (Bad pictures, I know)

Keep in mind that these are lazily taken photos (not scans) and that cameras/scanners/computer screens do not show metallic ink in its true beauty. But this is the idea, basically:

Plus I'm starting others with different color palettes.

These are just a few creations of my current place of employment, Mali B Sweets. A wonderful little bakery/confectionary in Greenport, Long Island, Mali B Sweets uses local purveyors, organic sugar and dairy, and European butter in its products. The owners are very passionate and make sure that every new confection is as pretty (or prettier) than the last.
